KATIE GUTH PHOTOGRAPHY | FALL WORKSHOP |
STYLE & SHOOTOUT
This workshop will take place in Hartland, WI
on October 4th, 2014 (Optional additional editing session the following day).
This workshop will cover the basic
functioning of your DSLR camera, followed by a stylized bridal session. We will
begin by meeting early afternoon to discuss arrangements of the session, and
how to go about planning one, along with how to prepare for sessions in
general. We will discuss the steps that were taken to plan the session, the
communication with separate vendors, and the organization of the models, as
well as helping clients understand what clothing and attire works well in a
normal session, or in styled sessions. Ideally, you will already understand the
functioning of your DSLR camera, which is required to have (even if you rent
one) for this workshop. We will discuss basic functions, RAW shooting mode, and
lighting / camera settings throughout the shoot. I will help you understand how
and where to pose your models, and how to make them comfortable for the
session. You will be able to sit through the hair and makeup sessions for the
models. Once they’re ready to go, we will go to the venue, where other vendors
will be participating in donating items for our shoot, such as florals, cakes/
cupcakes, etc. The shoot will take place in the late afternoon and early evening,
with the golden hour sunset, as long as the sun is shining that day. Throughout
this time, I will both be photographing for my own portfolio, as well as
teaching each of you techniques, posing, and differences in lighting. You will
have your turn to shoot and practice with the various models, as well as the
different vendor donations.
The cost for the workshop is $500 per person. There is a $200 retainer to hold your seat. The
remaining $300 is due TWO WEEKS
prior to the workshop. The entire cost is Non-Refundable. If you fail to pay
the balance, you understand that you are forfeiting your seat at the workshop,
as well as your retainer, and that Katie Guth Photography is not responsible to
fill your seat. I am opening 10 SEATS
to this workshop, which are on a first come first serve basis.
*OPTIONAL - the following day we can add a workflow / editing
workshop where you’ll be able to see how I edit and my overall workflow. I will
be working in Adobe Bridge for beginning workflow, and editing in Adobe
Photoshop CC. You’re encouraged to have your own laptop to try editing
techniques, but there will also be an iMac and Macbook available for use.
During this time, I will be able to answer any questions you might have.
You can feel free to use any of the images
that you take in your portfolio, as long as you credit each of the vendors,
which is standard in a styled photo shoot, that I can give you a list of. Each
partaker is responsible for their own lodging, equipment, transportation, and
snacks / beverages. I can provide a pizza dinner the night of the shoot.
I will organize a secret group or event on Facebook, for details regarding times, different vendors, the models, locations, and any questions before and after the shoot. You will be sent the link upon registration and your retainer payment. Please email Katie at katieguthphotography@gmail.com for any additional questions or concerns regarding this workshop.
